TRAVEL CONTINGENCIES
The skier is responsible for arriving on time at the DCH departure point and for conforming to the Canadian Customs Regulations. Your travel agent or Dream Catcher Heliskiing will be pleased to assist you in booking your flights, hotels and pre- or post- Heliskiing arrangements.
We recommend arriving in Vancouver, BC the night before your trip to Bella Coola.
PRE-TRIP PLANNING:
Don't forget to pack the special bits and pieces of ski system, including all clothing and equipment. We will have a few small items on-hand for sale if you come up short or have a breakage.
Some small items that you should be prepared to carry when you are out each day: spare mitts or gloves, goggle cloth, camera, lightweight extra layer. In addition the pack will contain a radio, small shovel, avalanche probe, hat and mitts. Not everyone needs to carry a pack in your group.
Get in shape for skiing! We plan to provide you a challenging ski holiday where good fitness, above and beyond ability, will allow you the means to meet the coastal mountain challenges and keep smiling.
Pack your bags according to the following formula and keep your baggage to a limit of 45-70 pounds (20 kg) if possible (private charters permit 75 pounds/34 kg each).
- Always pack your boots and important personal items as carry-on luggage.
- Snowboarders or skiers bringing their own skis (which we recommend only if necessary) should have one smaller bag for boots, clothing, etc and then the ski/snowboard bag.
- Avoid stuffing the snowboard bags to the "max". This prevents loading problems on the smaller aircraft.
