The Central Coast Mountains are a remote, mountainous, unroaded wilderness region located between Whistler and Prince Rupert, British Columbia. There are few places in the world where a temperate rainforest is in such close proximity to high alpine, glaciated mountains. For the past century and long into this century the modes of travel in this region have been via the water, and more recently by air using fixed wing, amphibious aircraft and helicopters.
This mighty landscape commands our awe, appreciation and respect. It's an amazing and inspiring mountain region for heliskiing, but it's big and requires a "big mountain safety" protocol. Our company's roots are in mountain and ski guiding in some of the country's other remote mountain ranges - the St Elias in the Yukon, the Canadian Rockies, Selkirks, Cariboos, Monshees and Bugaboos. We take a broad, multi-dimensional, partnership-based approach to managing risks for our guests in mountain environments.
The factors and variables that we consider when we develop your skiing/boarding program on a weekly, or daily, basis include: weather, terrain, snow conditions, group preparedness and fitness, client knowledge and experience in similar mountain environments, guest heliskiing experience and group dynamics. A great determinate of vertical footage achieved will be the ability of our complex team to work together.
