Dream Catcher Heliskiing tours are unique in the industry because each day of the tour package is a planned ski day. To ensure that you are rested and able to participate in a very busy first day of the tour, we encourage you to overnight in Vancouver close to the South Terminal of the Vancouver International Airport. This leg of travel is included in your package price.
First Day:
- Air travel leaves Vancouver, BC South Terminal at 10h20 and arrives in Bella Coola at 12h05
- 10 minute transfer by road to the Bella Coola Valley Inn
- Lunch, pre-trip paperwork, room and ski group assignments, safety briefings
- Depart for first ski runs at 14h30
- Return to hotel after skiing for après ski snacks, sauna or massage, and evening meal and entertainment
Days 2-6:
- Staging area 5 minute drive from the hotel
- Ski/board 8-16 runs per day
- Ski runs vary from 650-1,800 vert m (2,000-5,500 vert ft)
- All groups gather together for lunch in the field at a scenic, sheltered location
- A return after a long ski day may include a rest, après snacks and drinks, visit to the local shops, a steam and stretch, a run or valley tour
- Dinner locations will vary so that you can experience the entire Bella Coola Valley experience
- One day of the tour will likely include a trip to the natural hotsprings
- Skis and snowboards are tuned, daily vertical achieved calculated, and we prepare you for the next day (areas for skiing, weather forecasts, group desires/pacing/health considered).
Final Day:
- Bags are packed and prepared for transfer to airport by our staff and/or quick retrieval from hotel after morning ski runs.
- Depart 08h30 for first run, ski 2 to 3 hours.
- Come back to the hotel to shower or drive straight to the airport and change out of ski clothes prior to boarding (this will depend on group dynamics, weather for flying and snow conditions of the day).
- Depart Bella Coola at 12h25
- Arrive Vancouver, BC at 14h05.
