We apologize if we shorten the text to "heliskiing" because in all cases we intend to include heliboarding. Boarders make up at least 50% of our clientele, and in some cases our guests bring both skis and boards. Mountain sport specialists of both disciplines can then choose their "boards" of the day to suit the snow conditions.
Our dramatic scenery combined with the big mountain riding terrain provide an exceptional playground for all heliboarders. For all trips we recommend that you are in above average physical condition and good health. You should have at least 10-30 riding days under your boards before a heliski trip, (depends on your ability). Our guides will advise boarders of adjustments that you will need to make, e.g. transition zones, traverses and run-outs in low angle areas.
Very large boards are not recommended for helicopter riding terrain. We do not rent snowboards, and therefore it is recommended that you choose (and bring with you) a board that is suitable for a variety of snow conditions and terrain challenges.
Packages for heliboarding are sold based on guaranteed vertical footage, and every day is a possible ski day. Extra vertical is sold in 1,000 metre (3,000 foot) units. After you have reached your guaranteed vertical, it is your choice to continue to ride (and pay for extra vertical). Ninety-five (95%) of our tours to-date have achieved more than the guaranteed vertical footage for any package.
