The number one reason that we own a heliskiing operation is that we are SKIERS. Secondly, that we have children of our own that have love mountain adventures, downhill skiing and climbing. This is ground that we're comfortable covering ~ and have done so for years!
From the years of 1989 to 2005, our founding company, M&W Guides, operated youth-oriented and family-centric programs in the Canadian Rockies, Bugaboos, Coast Mountains, Selkirks and beyond. In the same tradition, and with considerable expertise in safe-guarding youth in mountain environments, we offer heliskiing tours for youth that are part of a family unit at Dream Catcher Heliskiing.
Our Terrain
The Coast Mountains offer a wide variety of undulating, interesting, awe-inspiring, yet moderate ski slopes perfectly suited to first-time powder skiers. The elevation is seldom over 8,000 feet above sea level so altitudes will not be a hurdle. Terrain micro-features allow family members to choose the vertical line that suits them, yet provides the opportunity to ski together.
Parent(s) Must Ski with Kids
Children between the ages of 12 and 18 will ski with their parents. If they get tired, they can return to the hotel while the parents stay out longer. If younger children accompany the family we can provide childcare services at an additional cost. Valley floor activities include: exploring the Central Coast environs as well as crafts, hikes, visiting the fish hatchery, learning about the temperate rainforest, and more.
Pricing: 50% of regular price
Accommodations are based on double occupancy (two queen beds in each room can expand to slumber party equivalents if you want!). The guaranteed vertical for the children is 50% of the package offering, and the price is 50% of regular package price. Extra vertical charges apply at regular rates. Parents must sign the Waiver of Liability on behalf of minor children (18 years or younger).
